"Cold Rain and Snow" is a traditional ballad collected in North Carolina in the early 20th century. It has been covered by the Grateful Dead and many other bands and is often played in Bluegrass circles. I love the beautiful, haunting sound of the melody. My version starts with a straight melody and moves on to progressively more free interpretations, culminating in an original interlude before returning to the melody in the final verse. The recording was a single complete performance with no edits and minimal processing. - Phil
